Job description

Job description A hospital in the Hastings, NE area needs an additional emergency medicine physician for an ongoing locum assignment covering 5 to 12 twelve-hour shifts a month. You choose how many you can take, and shifts are worked around your availability rather than on set days. Pay is $300/hr with 12 hours guaranteed per shift ($3,600 a shift) and $450/hr on holidays. No call. Travel is reimbursed with receipts, mileage is covered, and lodging is provided in an apartment or house. A physician from our team is already on assignment there and loves it. Start as soon as you are credentialed, with temporary privileges available.

Job Responsibilities

Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a Level III trauma center seeing about 16,000 visits a year, with 9 treatment areas, 2 trauma rooms, and 2 triage rooms. The model is 1 physician and 2 APPs on shift at all times. Shifts rotate between days and nights.

Qualifications

Board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine, or in family medicine or internal medicine with ED experience (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or the osteopathic equivalents). ATLS, ACLS, and PALS are required, and the hospital offers ATLS on site if you need it. A Nebraska license is required. Nebraska is an IMLC state, and if you do not hold a Nebraska license we will get you licensed. Credentialing typically takes 60 to 90 days, with temporary privileges available to help you start sooner. Begins with a phone interview with the ED medical director.

Working Hours

12-hour shifts, either 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, rotating days and nights. 12 hours guaranteed per shift. 5 to 12 shifts a month, scheduled around your availability. No set days. No call.
