Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Opportunity – Florida

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum assignment in Bartow, Florida, beginning November 2026. This opportunity offers a 12-hour physician coverage model in an Emergency Department seeing approximately 36,000 visits annually.

Assignment Details

• Ongoing coverage
• 36 guaranteed hours

Schedule

• 12-hour physician coverage model
• Overtime after 12 hours
• No telehealth

Practice Setting

• Emergency Department
• 16 ED beds
• Approximately 36,000 ED visits annually
• Approximately 99 visits per day across the department
• Cerner EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage Emergency Department patients
• Treat acute and emergent medical conditions
• Perform all procedures required by the facility's Delineation of Privileges

Requirements

• MD or DO
• BC/BE Emergency Medicine preferred
• ABEM candidates preferred
• BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians may be considered with Emergency Medicine experience
• AAPS/ABPS not accepted
• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
• Active DEA with Florida address
• Required DEA schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 and 5
• Emergency Medicine experience required for FM/IM physicians

Certifications

• ACLS
• PALS
• ATLS required unless ABEM certified

Credentialing

• Case logs from the previous 2 years
• CME documentation from the previous 2 years
• Current flu vaccination
• Current TB screening
• COVID documentation
• Must meet all facility onboarding and credentialing requirements

Ideal Candidate

An ABEM-certified or eligible Emergency Medicine Physician with an active Florida license and November availability is preferred. Experienced FM/IM physicians with a strong Emergency Medicine background may also be considered.
