EM MD/DO - Pennington Gap, VA

• 12-hour physician shifts

• Strong malpractice coverage: $2.7M per occurrence / $8.1M annual aggregate

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license

• Active Virginia DEA with VA address and required schedules

• Board certification through ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates

For providers who are not EM board certified or EM trained:

• ACLS

• ATLS

• PALS

• NRP for non-ABEM providers

• Current MMR and Varicella immunity

• Current TB testing/QuantiFERON

• Current-season flu vaccination

• Two-year case logs

• Documentation of special procedure training, if applicable

• Preeclampsia education required for initial appointment and every 2 years thereafter

New EM graduates may be considered, including EM residency graduates within the past 12 months, with a 3-month proctorship required.
