- Duration: 26 weeks
- Schedule: Approximately 3 shifts per week; 10 or more shifts per month
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shift Options: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; swing, 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.; nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Primary Coverage Need: Nights, with flexibility for other shifts preferred
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480–$7,670
- Clinical Setting: Level III Trauma Center with approximately 24,000 annual Emergency Department visits
- Department Profile: 17-bed, high-acuity Emergency Department with an average volume of approximately 2 patients per hour
- Support and Resources: Advanced practice provider coverage from 2:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m., fast-track services, Epic EMR, 24/7 CT availability, and bedside ultrasound
Emergency Medicine Physician Requirements
- At least 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience, including recent Emergency Medicine practice within the last 6 months
- Emergency Medicine residency training
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABEM or AOBEM
- Active Washington medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- ATLS certification is required regardless of board certification status
- Demonstrated conscious sedation experience; sedation CME documentation may be required if experience cannot be verified through case logs
- Case and encounter logs from the previous 12 months, with dates, patient names, and diagnoses fully documented
- No gaps of 6 months or longer in clinical activity; gaps of 3 months or longer require an explanation
- Availability to complete weekday, on-site orientation
Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Provide high-quality emergency care in a high-acuity Level III Trauma Center
- Manage patients across the main Emergency Department and fast-track areas
- Perform and document conscious sedation when clinically indicated
- Utilize bedside ultrasound and coordinate diagnostic evaluation, including CT imaging available around the clock
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers and the multidisciplinary Emergency Department team
- Complete timely medical records and maintain compliance with clinical and credentialing standards
