Job Details
- Setting: High-volume emergency department in a teaching hospital environment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,400-$9,000
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts, with some 9-hour coverage as needed
- Schedule: Day, evening, and overnight emergency medicine coverage; no on-call requirements
- Patient Volume: Approximately 33,000 annual ED visits
- EMR: Epic

Job Requirements
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM only)
- Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility
- ATLS certification required for trauma privileges
- Minimum of 1 year of emergency medicine physician experience required
- Ability to obtain privileges quickly and help cover a significant number of open shifts
- Clean background and strong credentialing history
- Experience supervising advanced practice providers (APPs) preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide physician coverage in the emergency department
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergency medicine patients
- Work collaboratively with APPs, nursing staff, and the broader care team
- Support day, evening, and overnight coverage needs across varied shift times
- Deliver efficient, high-quality care in a busy, high-acuity emergency department
- Assist with trauma-related care and supervision responsibilities as needed
