📍 Location: Mason City, Iowa
📅 Coverage: Multiple open shifts | Nov 2026–Jan 2027
⏰ Shifts: 9 & 12 hours
🚫 No Call
🏥 Setting: Emergency Department
💻 EMR: Epic
🚑 Trauma: Level III
👥 ED Volume: ~77 patients/day
📊 Annual Visits: ~33,000
👨⚕️ Providers Needed: 1–2 day | 1 night
🔹 Opportunity Highlights
- Open FTE / ongoing shift coverage
- Approximately 15 open shifts/month
- First-come, first-served
- Client is especially interested in physicians who can cover a significant number of open shifts
- ED physician coverage
- 1–2 APPs on staff
- Physician supervision of APPs required
- Teaching hospital
- 250-bed facility
- Peak/busiest hours: 11 AM–11 PM
- Less than 3% of patients transferred out
📅 Current Open Shifts
Openings are available throughout November 2026, December 2026 & January 2027, including:
Day: 7 AM–7 PM | 8 AM–5 PM
Evening: 5 PM–2 AM
Night: 7 PM–7 AM
Multiple dates available — significant shift coverage is preferred.
✅ Requirements
- ABEM Board Certified – Required
- Active Iowa License or IMLC – Required
- ATLS – Required for trauma privileges
- Clean background – Required
- Must be able to cover a significant number of available shifts
- Must have a work history that allows for quick privileging; credentialing staff reviews 10 years of history
