Seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physicians for ongoing locum tenens coverage with a highly respected Indiana healthcare system. The assignment begins January 2027 and offers approximately 6–10 shifts per month, including a mix of days, nights, and weekends.

Physicians will work scheduled 7–9-hour shifts with no call responsibilities in a well-supported hospital emergency department using Cerner EMR. Candidates must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency and hold an active Indiana license or qualify through the IMLC. Travel and malpractice insurance are covered.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients across various acuity levels.
Manage approximately 15–20 patients per shift.
Provide stabilization and emergency medical treatment.
Coordinate hospital admissions and appropriate patient dispositions.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital support staff.
Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR.
Work a flexible mix of day, night, and weekend shifts.
Follow all facility protocols, quality standards, and patient-safety requirements.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree
Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine through ABEM
Active Indiana medical license or eligibility through the IMLC
Active Indiana DEA and CSR
Current BLS certification
Comfortable working day, night, and weekend shifts
Cerner EMR experience preferred
Available for approximately 6–10 shifts per month on an ongoing basis

Mix of day, overnight, and weekend coverage required
No 12-hour shifts available
Scheduled clinical hours only
