Job description

Job description A hospital in the Iron Mountain, MI area needs an Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing coverage, ASAP start, approximately 6-8 shifts per month, primarily night shifts (6p-6a), typically consecutive or in blocks. Pay is $300/hr. No call. Hospitalists handle all admissions. Approximately 20,000 ED visits per year. ABEM board certification strongly preferred, but new grads are welcome. This is a long-term, ongoing need, not a short fill.

Job Responsibilities

Provide ED coverage, primarily nights (6p-6a), with some additional shift options available (6a-2p, 1p-9p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p). Respond to ER Provider Code as needed. No admissions responsibility, hospitalist team handles all admissions.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, ABEM strongly preferred, new grads welcome. No license required to bid. ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS required, AHA-issued certifications specifically required by Marshfield, no equivalents accepted. Clean malpractice history required, Marshfield will not accept candidates with any pending malpractice claims.

Working Hours

6-8 shifts per month, primarily 6p-6a nights, consecutive or in blocks. Additional shift options available: 6a-2p, 1p-9p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p.

Skills

Comfortable with consecutive night shift blocks in a moderate-volume ED (~20,000 visits/year). AllScripts (Sunrise) EMR.
