Job description

Job description Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI needs one EM physician for a 3-day holiday coverage block, November 25-27, days, 6am-6:30pm. Pay is $300/hr. This is a low-acuity, no-call assignment, 40-60 patients per 24 hours in a combined ED/urgent care setting, 20 patients per shift, 13 beds. The facility is 30 minutes from Madison and 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells. General Surgery, Orthopedics, and a collaborative Hospitalist team are on staff, and the facility has Telestroke and Tele-ICU support plus a UW helicopter on site. Ongoing coverage needs are expected in 2027 for candidates who want to build a longer relationship with the facility.

Job Responsibilities

Provide emergency and urgent care coverage for a combined ED/UC setting. No call responsibilities and no admissions required, the hospitalist team handles admissions. No hospital or surgery center privileges required, temporary privileges are available. Coordinate as needed with the collaborative Hospitalist, General Surgery, and Orthopedics teams, and utilize Telestroke and Tele-ICU support services when appropriate.

Qualifications

Board certified in Emergency Medicine required, board eligible not accepted. Active Wisconsin license or IMLC required. ACLS and ATLS required. Clean background required for temporary privileges. Comfortable in a low-acuity, combined ED/urgent care volume of 40-60 patients per 24 hours.

Working Hours

Single 3-day block, November 25-27, days only, 6am-6:30pm. No call.

Skills

Comfortable with a Level 4 trauma, low-volume combined ED/UC setting. EPIC EMR experience. Ability to work independently with RN, MA, and PA/NP support staff on site (4 RNs, 1 MA, 2 PA/NPs).
