Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Need – Orangeburg, SC

We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity in Orangeburg, South Carolina, beginning October 2026. This assignment offers guaranteed hours, 8-hour shift options, and ongoing coverage while the facility recruits a permanent physician. Several urgent October and November dates are currently available, with temporary privileges requested for qualified physicians who can start quickly.

Assignment Details

• Coverage needed until a permanent physician is hired
• Guaranteed 36 hours
• Immediate October and November coverage available

Urgent Coverage Dates

• October 1: 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
• October 3: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• October 4: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• October 29: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• November 6, 7, 9, 12, 13 & 17
• November 20–22
• November 25–29

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts
• Day Shift: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
• Work week: Sunday–Saturday

Practice Setting

• Emergency Medicine
• Main hospital: 286 beds
• Level III facility
• Free-standing Emergency Department coverage
• Approximately 60,000 annual ED visits

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certification required
• Board Eligible physicians accepted within 5 years
• Fellowship required
• Epic experience required – no exceptions
• MUSC submission checklist required
• Academic medical center experience not required

Credentialing

• Temporary privileges requested for physicians who can begin in October or November
• Temporary privileges are targeted toward providers with no malpractice history
