Job Responsibilities
Mary Lanning is a well-staffed, well-run regional ED. You are not walking into a chaotic understaffed department. Two APPs share every shift with you, which means you are practicing medicine rather than managing chaos.
The schedule is the thing most physicians respond to. You submit your dates, they build around you. There is no call rotation to negotiate around, no mandatory overtime, and no surprise shift extensions. Six shifts a month is roughly one shift every five days, which leaves significant room for other commitments, family, travel, or a second assignment.
Hastings is a community of roughly 24,000 in south-central Nebraska. It is a working city, not a remote outpost, with restaurants, a university, and a genuine community feel. For a physician who wants a reliable, low-drama monthly block without the politics of a large academic center, this is the role worth looking at.
CREDENTIALING
Credentialing timeline approximately 60 days with prompt documentation. We handle all logistics from start to finish. Nebraska licensing handled and covered by GQR if needed. IMLC fast-track available for eligible physicians.

Qualifications
ABEM board certified. This is a hard requirement, no exceptions
Active Nebraska license or ability to obtain (we handle licensing and cover the cost)
ATLS current
No J-1 or H-1B visa candidates
Clean background preferred
Working Hours
12-hour shifts: days (0800-2000) or nights (2000-0800)
Flexible: you submit your availability and the schedule is built around you
Approximately 6 shifts per month, with the ability to take more if desired
No mandatory call, no mandatory overtime
Ongoing coverage with consistent monthly blocks
Skills
Level III Trauma Center
Approximately 16,000 annual ED visits
Staffing model: 1 physician and 2 APPs on every shift. You are supported, not solo
9 treatment bays, 2 trauma rooms, 2 triage rooms
EMR: Epic
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS required
