Emergency Medicine Physician – 12-Hour Shift Coverage
Overview
A healthcare organization in South Texas is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers 12-hour day and night shifts in a collaborative emergency department supported by onsite specialty services and temporary privileges for qualified providers.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent medical conditions
- Stabilize critically ill and injured patients
- Perform emergency procedures within credentialed scope of practice
- Collaborate with onsite specialists and multidisciplinary care teams
- Document patient encounters using Cerner
- Deliver high-quality emergency care in a community hospital setting
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine preferred
- Completion of an accredited residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- Active Texas DEA registration with applicable controlled substance schedules
- Current ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Current Emergency Medicine clinical experience
- Two years of case logs and CME documentation required for credentialing
- Eligible for hospital credentialing
