Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
Night shift position only, hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AMDuration of need is 3 to 6 months
ABEM board certification required
2 shadow shifts required for orientation
11-bed emergency department with a census of 15,000 to 16,000 patients per year, averaging 30 to 40 patients per day
Average of 4 to 5 daily admissions, approximately 13% admission rate from the ED
Patient population is young and generally healthy with low acuity cases
Facility is not a trauma, stroke, or cardiac center with minimal EMS volume
Most common cases include low to mid acuity presentations, GI symptoms, gynecological complaints, and pediatric cases
Standard ED procedures required, primarily low to mid acuity
Standard call services available including pediatrics
Labor and delivery located in hospital and separate from the ED
Pediatrician on shift in ED during peak hours
2 ED physicians and 1 pediatrician scheduled per day
