Job Details:

• ABEM board certification required
  
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required; family medicine with emergency medicine fellowship also considered
  
• On-site coverage across multiple emergency room locations with shifts running 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  
• Single physician coverage per shift at each site
  
• Schedule includes on-site coverage, weekends, and nights with no call required
  
• 4 total positions available
  
• 1-year duration of need
  
• Each site has APP support coverage varying from 9 to 24 hours per day
  
• Required procedures include intubations, central line placement, ultrasound utilization, OB deliveries, dislocation reductions, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair
  
• Sites include Level IV trauma centers as well as freestanding emergency departments; all sites see high acuity patients
  
• Patient populations vary by site and include elderly patients, winter Texans, nursing home residents, rural patients, and younger mixed populations
  
• Average daily census ranges from 45 to 80 patients depending on site
  
• Admission rates are approximately 10% at freestanding emergency departments and 20% at the main facility
  
• Onboarding includes 2 hours of EMR and quality measures training plus 2 to 3 required shadow shifts
  
• Case logs will be required as part of the credentialing process

The facilities are equipped to handle a wide range of emergency and high-acuity cases, with Level IV trauma center designations at select locations. The system supports physicians with on-site APP coverage at all locations and utilizes Meditech as its electronic medical records platform.
