Overview
A regional healthcare system is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity across multiple facilities in Indiana and Kentucky. Providers will rotate between sites based on coverage needs and availability.
Locations
- Indiana (2 hospital sites)
- Kentucky (1 hospital site)
Schedule
- Flexible 9-hour shifts (some 10-hour shifts may be available)
- Multiple shift times available (day, mid, evening, overnight)
- Ongoing coverage with consistent shift availability
- Assignments provided in advance
Clinical Environment
- EMR: Epic
- Average volume: 15–18 patients per day (~2/hour)
- Hospitalist service manages admissions
- Full specialty backup available
Practice mix includes:
- Level II Trauma Center environment
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Community hospital with transfer protocols for higher-acuity cases
Required Procedures
Candidates must be comfortable with and able to provide documentation/logs for:
- Endotracheal intubation (20 in last 24 months)
- Central venous catheter placement
- Lumbar puncture
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Moderate sedation
- Nasal hemostatic packing (anterior & posterior)
- Breast cyst aspiration
- Suprapubic bladder aspiration
Credentialing
- Estimated timeframe: 4–8 weeks

Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Comfortable rotating between multiple ED settings
- Strong procedural experience with documentation
- Flexible availability for scheduling needs
