Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join a dynamic healthcare team in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced clinical environment while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Provide emergency medical care for a wide range of conditions across all age groups
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and laboratory results
• Collaborate with consulting physicians and hospital staff regarding patient care plans
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning as appropriate
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain a patient-centered approach while working efficiently in a high-volume emergency department

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain licensure
• DEA certification required
• Current ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications preferred
• Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Experience

• Previous Emergency Medicine experience
• Experience working in community hospitals or high-volume emergency departments is a plus
• Familiarity with EMR systems
