Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in a critical access hospital setting. This role is ideal for physicians comfortable in community or rural ED environments with a preference for night coverage.

Schedule

• 📅 Start: September 2026
• 📆 Duration: 3 months (approx.)
• 🕘 Shifts: ~10 shifts/month
• 🌙 Shift Types: Mix of days, evenings & nights (nights preferred)
• 🚫 Call: Not required

Practice Details

• 🏥 Setting: Emergency Department (Critical Access Hospital)
• 🛏️ Beds: 25
• 👥 Patient Volume: ~20–24 patients/day
• ⏱️ Pace: 2.5–3 patients/hour
• 👶 Patient Population: All ages (≈14% pediatrics)
• 💻 EMR: EPIC

Clinical Scope

• Manage typical Emergency Department acuity
• Provide care across all age groups
• Work in a limited specialty support environment
• Ideal for physicians with rural/community ED experience

Requirements

• 🏅 Board Certified – Emergency Medicine (Required)
• ❌ No IM/FM-only candidates
• 📜 Active Massachusetts License (Required)
• 💊 DEA (MA)
• ❤️ ACLS Certification
• 📈 Minimum 1 year ED experience
• 💻 EPIC experience required
