Locums – Ocala, Florida, Emergency Medicine Opening

• Clinical Role:

  • Duration: Anticipate 1-2 years
  • Shift: Most 7a-7p and 7p-7a
  • There are two 8 hour shifts available per day
  • Reason for need: Staffing shortage
  • Procedures Required: Proficiency in all emergency care procedures is required (Central Access, Arterial Line, Lumbar Puncture, Intubation, Pacing, Orthopedic Stabilization, etc.)
  • Support Staff: APP Coverage depending on location and shift and time of day. EM Residency Program, APP training program as well.
  • Patient Census: Depends on location. Most FSEDs are 2 patients per hour. Main sites are more variable
  • Common Cases Locums will see: FSEDs – Vertical 3 patients and level 4/5 patients. Mainly vertical 3 patients (abdominal pain, chest pain, etc.) They are unlikely to work in the main (high acuity) section of these facilities unless they specifically request
  • EM Board Eligible after successful completion of accredited Residency or FM/IM with 3 years of experience (for FSEDs Only)
  • Emergency Privileges is an option
