Assignment Overview:
- Start Date: Upon credentialing
- Assignment Length: Short-term
- Shift Need: 18 shifts needed ASAP
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts (days and nights)
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Providers must be open to covering both day and night shifts
Practice Setting:
- Acute Care Hospital
- Emergency Department
- Level III Trauma Center
- Collaborative MD and APC staffing model
- EMR: Cerner
Scope of Work:
- Provide full-scope Emergency Medicine coverage
- Evaluate, treat, and manage ED patients
- Perform procedures within EM scope of practice
- Collaborate with APC staff
- No responsibility for writing admitting orders
Volume & Support:
- Annual ED Volume: 23,000–24,000
- Patients per hour: 1.8
- 16 ED beds plus additional hall beds as needed
- APC coverage throughout the week with varying schedules
- No scribe services
Specialty Backup Available:
- Cardiology (noninvasive)
- Gastroenterology (weekday daytime)
- Gynecology
- Family Medicine / OB
- Orthopedics
- Neurology (onsite and 24/7 tele-neurology)
- Pulmonology
- General Surgery
- Optometry
- Nephrology
Requirements:
- Board Certification not required
- Active ACLS and PALS certifications required
