Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join its dynamic Emergency Department team in Dothan, Alabama.This role involves evaluating and treating a wide range of acute and critical conditions in an emergency setting. Physicians will work a shift-based schedule with support from APPs, nursing staff, and on-call specialists.
The group is open to 2026 Emergency Medicine residents as well as experienced physicians.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses or injuries
- Perform rapid assessments, stabilization, and treatment of critical conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGs
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central lines, suturing, and trauma care
- Collaborate with specialists for admissions, consultations, and transfers
- Manage patient flow efficiently while maintaining high-quality care standards
- Document all patient encounters accurately within the electronic health record (EHR)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams in high-pressure situations
Qualifications
Education
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency
Licensure & Certification
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
Experience
- Open to 2026 graduating residents
- Experienced Emergency Medicine physicians also encouraged to apply
