This regional medical center serves as a vital healthcare hub for the surrounding community, featuring a 22-bed emergency department with an annual patient volume of 32,000. The facility maintains strong support services including 24-hour anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and radiology availability.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
• Standard solo Emergency Room coverage for 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a)
• Multiple dates available throughout June 2026
• Physicians typically see 18-20 patients per 12-hour shift
• Daily patient volume ranges from 90-100 patients
• Coverage model includes 1 physician with 2 mid-level providers for split coverage
• EMR system: Meditech 6.1
• Open ICU available
• Must be North Carolina Medicaid credentialed and enrolled in PECOS
• Board certification required
• Active North Carolina medical license required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 14 days
• Hospital-owned apartment housing provided
• Travel costs capped at $500
• Support services include 24-hour anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and radiology
• L&D department on-site but newborn deliveries not received in ED
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
