A community hospital is seeking a physician to join its Emergency Department team. This opportunity offers a manageable patient volume, strong specialist support, and a collaborative care environment designed to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinical operations.
Position Highlights
• Emergency Department renovated and expanded in 2017
• 18-bed Emergency Department
• Annual patient volume of approximately 16,000 visits
• Solo physician coverage with Advanced Practice Provider support daily from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• Shift structure includes:
* 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
* 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Small overlap between shifts to ensure smooth patient handoff and continuity of care
Practice Environment
• Separate walk-in clinic located across the street
• Walk-in clinic staffed by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Strong relationships with tertiary care hospitals for patient transfers
• Access to specialist consultation, including psychiatry
• Trauma team available and required to be on-site within 20 minutes
Clinical Support
• Advanced Practice Provider support during peak hours
• Efficient patient triage supported by adjacent urgent care services
• Access to regional specialty resources for complex cases
• Collaborative emergency care team focused on patient safety and quality outcomes
