OVP is a family-owned physician group practice company focused on the delivery of hospitalist and emergency department physicians. OVP's physicians and affiliated providers practice in hospitals and other inpatient facilities. The current opportunities are provided by OVP as contracted by Holzer Health

Job Responsibilities
Triage and Diagnosis: Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of emergency conditions, including assessing patients' vital signs to determine priority of treatment.
Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), X-rays, laboratory tests, and CT scans.
Patient Disposition: Determine the appropriate disposition for patients, including arranging admissions to the hospital, discharging with home care instructions, or transferring to other facilities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters.
Team Leadership & Coordination: Direct and collaborate with nursing staff, technicians, residents, and other specialists, acting as the team leader in the Emergency Department.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all emergency department policies, procedures, and legal requirements, ensuring patient safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and quality standards.
Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and primary care physicians, offering reassurance and clear explanations of treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Completed an Emergency Medicine Resident program or Emergency Medicine Fellowship that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Completed a Family or Internal Medicine Resident program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Non Emergency Medicine residents or fellows must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in emergency medicine.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or ABOEM).
- Active, unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.
- Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
Skills
Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound, ECGs).
Perform emergency procedures, such as:
Airway management and endotracheal intubation
Central venous and arterial line placement
Chest tube insertion
Procedural sedation
Lumbar puncture
Laceration repair and fracture reduction
Point-of-care ultrasound
Manage multiple patients simultaneously while prioritizing acuity.
Provide pain control and symptom management.
Initiate evidence-based treatment protocols.
