Position Overview

  • Patient Volume: 37,000
  • Specialties: OBGYN, Orthopedic, General Surgery, Critical Care, ICU, Lab, Stroke Care, Radiology, Imaging, Neuroscience
  • Coverage Model: Physicians work 7a-7p and 7p-7a; NPPAs work 9a-9p and 6p-6a
  • Number of Beds: 26 ED beds
  • EMR: Cerner (PowerNote ED) with Dragon capabilities


Qualifications

  • Education: MD/DO with a three-year residency
  • Board Certification: ABEM/ABOEM
  • Experience: emergency medicine residency/ continuous work in the emergency medicine environment.

About South Texas Health System McAllen: South Texas Health System McAllen, formerly known as McAllen Medical Center, is a 441-bed hospital that is the only designated advanced Level I Trauma Center for Hidalgo County, and its NICU remains the region's only neonatal surgical center. The hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center. Services provided at the hospital include advanced wound care, maternity care, neurosurgery and orthopedics. South Texas Health System McAllen is accredited by The Joint Commission and has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.
