Position Overview
Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a collaborative, high-quality Emergency Department serving Southern Indiana and nearby Kentucky communities. As a not-for-profit acute care hospital, Harrison County Hospital is deeply committed to compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining efficient operations and strong specialty access
• Patient Volume: ~18,000 annual ED visits
• Specialties: Emergency Medicine
• Coverage Model: 24-hour physician coverage, 10 hours/day APP coverage
• Number of Beds: Emergency Department (acute care hospital)
• Acuity: Consistent community ED acuity with efficient patient flow
• EMR: Cerner
• Procedures: Full-scope Emergency Medicine procedures
• ICU: Access to inpatient and specialty support via Norton Healthcare partnership
• Admissions/Transfers: Supported referral and transfer pathways through Norton Healthcare
• Fellowship/Residency: Emergency Medicine residency required
• Moonlighting: As approved per site and SCP Health policy
• ICP Site: Yes
• Tele Coverage:
Qualifications
• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensure: Active Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM (Board Eligible considered)
• Emergency Medicine clinical experience required
• Badges: ACLS, BLS, PALS (as required)
