This facility is part of a well-established healthcare system serving the Greater Lansing area. The emergency department handles an annual volume of 40,000 patients with a Level 3 trauma designation and features a fast-track area staffed by APPs. The facility offers comprehensive emergency medicine services with full nursing support and 12 hours of APP coverage daily.

Job Details:
• Position is part of a float pool of providers for PRN shifts with open dates sent via email once accepted • Approximately 110 patients seen per day in the ED • 22% of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day • 70% of total hospital admissions received from ED • Work in a Level 3 Trauma Center with 42 beds • Fast track area staffed by APPs handling 15% of total ED volume • Supervise APPs and residents as part of role responsibilities • Hospitalist writes admission orders • ED staff does not respond to house codes • Electronic medical record system: Cerner • Required to perform various procedures including adult and pediatric outpatient care, newborn resuscitation, orthopedic non-displaced fractures, suturing, incision and drainage • Must be able to manage psychiatric care (uncomplicated adult, child/adolescent, and geriatric) • Skills required include ventilation management, central and arterial line placement, EKG interpretation, arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and other EM related procedures • Must be ABEM or AOBEM board certified (no exceptions) • Active Michigan medical license required (no IMLC accepted) • BLS certification required • Must be local to the area • Clean background check required for quick credentialing • Provider must clock in/out using DocTime system
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
