Critical Care Physician – Open ICU
Location: Midland, TX
Setting: Inpatient / ICU
Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent position
Position Overview
A Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Critical Care Physician is needed to join a large, multidisciplinary group serving the Permian Basin region. This position features a block schedule, competitive compensation, bonuses, relocation support, and full benefits in a busy Open ICU environment.
Position Highlights
• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm)
• Open ICU
• Large multispecialty physician and APP team
• Cerner EMR
• Serving a regional catchment area of ~450,000 residents
Responsibilities
• Provide full-spectrum critical care coverage
• Perform ICU procedures including:
– Thoracentesis
– Chest tube placement (surgical & small-bore)
– Bronchoscopy
– Central line placement
– Arterial & dialysis line placement
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered ICU care
Qualifications
• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine
• Texas medical license (or eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years hospitalist or ICU experience preferred
• Proficiency in ICU procedures
