Overview:
* The state’s largest health system and largest private employer comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements.
* Critical Access Hospital serving Garrett County and surrounding rural communities
* Full-service Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage
* Non-designated trauma center with stabilize-and-transfer model for higher-acuity trauma
* Close transfer relationships with regional Level III+ trauma centers
* Low-to-moderate patient volume typical of a rural ED
* Broad-scope emergency medicine with a mix of medical, minor trauma, and limited high-acuity cases
* Physicians practice with a high level of autonomy
* Trauma and specialty cases stabilized on site and transferred as appropriate
