Locums Emergency Medicine Physician | Delaware (Multiple Sites) IMLC Accepted
A multi-site emergency medicine program in Delaware is seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for overnight locum tenens coverage. This opportunity offers primarily nocturnist shifts, APC support at most locations, and flexible scheduling across four sites.
Assignment Overview Target start: March/April forward Ongoing need due to gap in coverage Primarily overnight shifts
Schedule Monday–Sunday coverage required Physicians may work multiple sites throughout the week
Physician shift times: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. or 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Site-specific overnight coverage: Smyrna: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (solo coverage) Route 9: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (solo coverage) Kent: 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (physician until 1:00 a.m., APC until 7:00 a.m.) Sussex: 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (physician until midnight, APC until 4:00 a.m.)
Coverage Needs 2.0 FTE or 20–30 shifts per month Minimum commitment: 5 shifts per month
Practice Setting Inpatient and outpatient emergency department coverage All ages treated Must be comfortable covering all four sites
Patient Volume Route 9: approximately 65 patients per day Smyrna: approximately 54 patients per day Kent: approximately 160 patients per day Sussex: approximately 95–105 patients per day Annual volume range: 19,710–58,400
Technology EMR: EPIC
Requirements Board Certified ABEM or AOBEM only Active license or IMLC candidates accepted Must submit availability through shift administration 3 months in advance Charts must be completed within 72 hours
Vaccination Requirements COVID vaccine not required Flu vaccine required
