Emergency Medicine opening – Detroit Lakes, MN Located 45 miles from Fargo, ND Position Details Join a collegial and team-oriented Emergency Medicine department in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, providing high-quality care at a Level III Trauma Center serving a regional population of 97,000. The department seeks a full-time physician to join an established group of four Emergency Medicine physicians, expanding to five. * 24-hour coverage; 12-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. * Single coverage (1 a.m.–9 a.m.) with additional support during peak volumes * 1.0 FTE = 11 shifts/month, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts * Annual volume: 13,000–14,000 patient visits per year * Patient load: Average 16–18 per day * NP/PA coverage: Weekdays and weekends (9 a.m.–1 a.m., 7 days a week) * Level III Trauma Center – Top Performing Rural Hospital (Chartis) * Joint Commission Accredited facility * Physician-led organization emphasizing collaboration and flexibility * Newly remodeled Emergency Room with modern equipment and efficient workflows * EPIC EMR with DAX ambient voice documentation * Flexible scheduling options for optimal work-life balance * Opportunity for leadership involvement within the department Requirements * Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine – *Preferred* * Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience or additional EM training – *Accepted* * Current ACLS, ATLS/CALS, and PALS certifications – *Required* Compensation and Benefits Details * Hourly Rate: $246.51/hour * Eligible for bonuses, quality incentives, and production-based compensation * Comprehensive benefits package, including: * Paid malpractice insurance * Relocation assistance * Full medical, dental, and vision benefits * Retirement plans with employer match * Additional perks for CME and continuing education Community Details Located in the heart of the Minnesota Lakes Area, Detroit Lakes offers a family-friendly atmosphere, excellent schools, and abundant recreational opportunities year-round.
