Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens

A Regional Medical Center is seeking Emergency Medicine Board-Certified Physicians for locum tenens coverage beginning immediately. Join a high-volume, high-acuity emergency department in a newly built, state-of-the-art facility serving as a regional tertiary care center.

Position Highlights:

• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens

• Shift Needs:

  • Primarily night shifts

  • 8-hour shifts preferred, but 12-hour shifts can be accommodated

  • Flexible scheduling – up to 12–14 shifts/month, with the ability to work around your availability

• Start Date: ASAP

Facility Overview:

• • 517-bed Tertiary Care Center

  • Operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center

  • ED Volume: 70,000–80,000 visits/year

  • Average Daily ED Volume: 190 visits/day

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Newly built 80-bed Emergency Department (opened in 2021) designed to handle 100,000+ visits/year

  • Low transfer rate – transfers only for burns, amputations, and select high-risk OB cases

  • Separate psychiatric ED area

  • Supported by a team of 5 APPs, additional APP extenders, and scribes

  • Full complement of specialty and hospitalist support

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (Family Medicine NOT accepted)

• Must be EM residency trained

• Active South Carolina Medical License

• CSR and DEA licenses that can remain registered in South Carolina

• Comfortable managing all age groups

• Must be capable of performing all emergency medicine procedures
