A non-profit community hospital in northern Massachusetts is adding an Emergency Medicine Nocturnist physician due to patient demand.
About the opportunity:
- Join a team of 18 board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and 5 Advanced Practice Providers
- 2 Emergency Medicine Physicians scheduled 24/7
- Significant overlap of shifts
- Varying shifts. Shifts are 8 or 9 hours
- Average 1.5-1.8 patients an hour
- No shortage of procedures (expected to be able to do all ER procedures)
- Anesthesia, Pedi Hospitalist, Hospitalist in-house 24/7
- Trauma surgery on call 24/7, expected to be at bedside in 30 minutes for critical trauma
- Other on-call specialties ? Orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery
- Intensivist in house 7a-7p, Hospitalist covers ICU from 7p-7a but Intensivist in on call
- ED does not respond to hospital airways or codes
- FAST track option that sees ESI 3-5
