A non-profit community hospital in northern Massachusetts is adding an Emergency Medicine Nocturnist physician due to patient demand.


About the opportunity:

  • Join a team of 18 board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and 5 Advanced Practice Providers
  • 2 Emergency Medicine Physicians scheduled 24/7
  • Significant overlap of shifts
  • Varying shifts. Shifts are 8 or 9 hours
  • Average 1.5-1.8 patients an hour
  • No shortage of procedures (expected to be able to do all ER procedures)
  • Anesthesia, Pedi Hospitalist, Hospitalist in-house 24/7
  • Trauma surgery on call 24/7, expected to be at bedside in 30 minutes for critical trauma
  • Other on-call specialties ? Orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery
  • Intensivist in house 7a-7p, Hospitalist covers ICU from 7p-7a but Intensivist in on call
  • ED does not respond to hospital airways or codes
  • FAST track option that sees ESI 3-5
