A small community hospital in west-central New Hampshire is adding an Emergency Room physician.


About the Opportunity

  • 12-Bed Emergency Department
  • The physician will provide single coverage-12 hour shifts with a 2nd provider swing on some days
  • The annual volume for the emergency department is approximately 10,000 visits
  • TeleHealth services, with regional referral center include TelePsych TeleNeuro, TeleICN, and TeleEmergency
  • The position is a full time which is approximately 1800 hours annually

Essential Functions of this Position

  • Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems
  • Performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes, Issuing appropriate prescriptions, and administering medicine.
  • Orders, schedules, and/or performs laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy, blood tests, and x-rays
  • Communicates necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to the patient.
  • In collaboration with the physician, arranges for consultations with or referrals to other medical professional or community services
  • Educates patient on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments/treatments, at-home medical care, medication, and other issues related to medical or health problems
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • The ideal candidate will be Emergency Medicine BC/BE however Family Medicine Trained Physicians with greater than 3 years of full-time EM experience will be considered.
