Job description
We are seeking a Dermatologist for a long-term locum opportunity in Lighthouse Point, Florida, beginning as soon as credentialed. This is an outpatient General Dermatology position offering approximately 2 days per week with no call, with the potential to expand to 3 days weekly.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: September 28, 2026, or sooner if credentialed
- 3- or 6-month initial assignment with option to extend
- Local Florida candidates only
Schedule
- Mondays and Tuesdays
- Potential for occasional Thursday coverage
- 6:30 AM–2:00 PM
- Approximately 2 days per week
- Potential to increase to 3 days per week
- No call
Practice Setting
- Outpatient General Dermatology
- Private practice/clinic setting
- Paper charting
- Approximately 20 patients per day
- Mix of new and established patients
- Pediatric through geriatric population
- Majority of patients are middle-aged to elderly
- Practice is transitioning from one exam room to a nearby location with two exam rooms
Procedures
- General Dermatology
- Cryosurgery
- Biopsies
- Excisions
- ED&C
- Cryosurgery accounts for approximately 80% of procedures
- Mohs surgery is not required; cases are referred out
Support Staff
- Practice owner
- Medical Assistant
- MA provides scribing, note-taking, and additional clinical support
- Physician should be comfortable functioning independently for most responsibilities
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Active Florida medical license required
- Board Certification preferred but not required
- BLS required
- General Dermatology skills required
- Cryosurgery experience preferred
- New graduates accepted
- DEA not required
- Must be eligible for Medicare enrollment with no background issues that would prevent enrollment
- Must currently reside in Florida and be able to drive to the assignment
Credentialing
- Approximately 30–45 days
Ideal Candidate
A Florida-licensed Dermatologist seeking a consistent, part-time outpatient opportunity with no call and an early 6:30 AM–2:00 PM schedule. This position is particularly well suited for a local physician comfortable with bread-and-butter General Dermatology and common office procedures, especially cryosurgery, biopsies, excisions, and ED&C.
