About the Practice
We are a fully equipped emergency veterinary hospital providing critical and acute care services. As the only emergency facility within a two-hour radius, we manage a wide range of complex medical and surgical cases.
Hours of Operation:
Open 24 hours on weekends, Mondays, and holidays
Open 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM, Tuesday through Thursday
Case Exposure Includes:
Gastrointestinal, toxicology, cardiovascular, and renal cases
Emergency surgeries such as GDV, foreign body removal, C-sections, and pyometras
Hospital Capabilities:
Ultrasound, digital radiography, and in-house laboratory diagnostics
Advanced equipment including bronchoscopy and endoscopy
Modern anesthesia systems and surgical tools (Ligasure, cautery, Snyder unit)

Job Responsibilities
Provide emergency and critical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions
Perform diagnostic evaluations, including physical exams, laboratory testing, radiography, and ultrasound
Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of medical conditions (e.g., gastrointestinal, toxicologic, cardiovascular, and renal cases)
Perform emergency surgical procedures such as GDV correction, foreign body removal, C-sections, and pyometra surgeries
Monitor hospitalized patients and adjust treatments based on patient response and clinical changes
Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in a timely manner
Follow hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Participate in overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of a rotating schedule
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Active veterinary license (or ability to obtain upon hire)
DEA license (or ability to obtain upon hire)
USDA accreditation (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Skills
Strong clinical skills in emergency and general veterinary medicine
Proficiency in soft tissue surgery and emergency surgical procedures
Ability to quickly assess, triage, and stabilize critical patients
Skilled in diagnostic interpretation (lab results, radiographs, ultrasound)
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients and team members
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to patient care
Compassionate and empathetic approach toward patients and pet owners
Strong organizational and time-management skills
