Job Details:

Full-time locum cardiology coverage needed as soon as possible
Ideal candidate has availability of 4 weeks per month; minimum availability of 2 weeks per month required
Clinic hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
On-call rotation: 1:4 during the week; weekend rotation 1:5 or 1:6
Patient contact hours: 7 hours per day; clinic days Monday through Friday
Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship completion) required
Fellowship trained required; sub-specialties include General Cardiology, Nuclear, and Echo
Inpatient responsibilities included; rotation through outreach locations required (Belmond, Clarion, Iowa Falls, Emmetsburg, New Hampton, and other possible sites)
Doctor of the Week (DOW) hospital responsibilities include rounding on cardiology patients, admitting, discharging, and teaching fellows on service
Reading responsibilities include rotating as Echo doctor, supporting echo reading and nuclear reading with fellows, as well as EKGs and heart monitors
Additional responsibilities include TEE and cardioversions when on DOW service
EMR: EPIC
Teaching opportunity available; cardiology fellowship program with nine fellows
Practice includes 9+ PRN physicians, 2 Cardiac Surgeons, and 5 APPs for Cardiology
Team nursing model averaging 2 clinical staff to 3 providers
Clinic provider daily volume: 15-20 patients per day; average daily hospital census: 15-25 patients
Appointment length: 30-minute template or 20/40 template
Patient population includes a large Medicare population and commercial payors
Active Iowa license or active IMLC with Letter of Qualification required
