Cardiology - General Locum job in Mason City, IA

Facility is seeking a Locum Cardiologist to cover their FULL TIME need ASAP!

Schedule

• Start: ASAP = January 2027 with temp privs
• FULL TIME coverage needed
• Ideal Candidate = 4 weeks per month availability
• Minimum availability of 2 weeks per month per candidate)
• 8:00a-5:00p Mon-Thurs; Friday 8a-12:30p (office remains open in PM for pts call
• On Call: Rotate: 1:4 during week; Weekend 1:5 or 1:6
• Patient Contact Hours: 7
• Clinic Days: Monday-Friday

Practice Information

• BC or Truly BE (within 5 years of fellowship completion)
• Fellowship Trained (sub-specialties: General Cardiology, Nuclear, Echo
• Inpatient responsibilities = Yes
• Locum is required to go to some of multiple locations in addition to "home base" in Mason City, IA
• Outreach = Yes
  Locum is required to rotate through all of the outreach locations
• Clinic/outreach rotation; Hospital rotation as DOW (Doctor of the week) responsibilities include rounding on the Cardiology patients, admitting, discharging, teaching the fellows on the service. Reading requirements including rotating through as Echo doctor, supporting echo reading and nuclear reading (with fellows)EKGs, Heart Monitors. Other responsibilities include TEE & Cardioversions when on DOW service.

• Number of Physicians: 9+ PRN physicians + 2 Cardiac Surgeons
• Number of APP: 5 for Cardiology; 2 PA's for Cardiac Surgery
• Nursing Support/Physician Nurse Ratio: Team model (2 clinical to 3 providers) is average
• Services/Procedures offered in the practice: No procedures are done in the clinic
• Exam Rooms per Provider: 2

• Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 15-20/day
• Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 15-25
• Appointment Length: 30 minute template or 20/40 template
• Patient Population/Demographics: Large Medicare population & Commercial payors
