Job description

Title: Cardiologist

Location: Riverside, CA

Job Type: Part-Time

Setting: Outpatient vein practice expanding into cardiology

Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiologist for a flexible, part-time opportunity in an established outpatient vein practice expanding throughout the Inland Empire. The physician will initially help manage the existing patient caseload, perform vein procedures following appropriate training, and may have the opportunity to develop an outpatient cardiology practice.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with venous disease.

  • Perform office-based varicose vein procedures after appropriate training.

  • Learn and perform vein ablations and sclerotherapy.

  • Provide outpatient cardiology care depending on interest and experience.

  • Help manage the practice's existing patient caseload.

  • Participate in the continued expansion of the practice throughout the Inland Empire.

  • Work approximately 1-3 days per week, with at least one day per week in the Inland Empire.

  • Provide exceptional patient care with support from experienced clinical and administrative staff.

  • Potentially develop a cardiology patient base and supervise nurse practitioners as opportunities arise.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

Required:

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.

  • Active California medical license.

  • Active hospital admitting privileges at a hospital in the Inland Empire.

  • Clean professional license and good professional reputation.

  • Strong clinical skills and commitment to exceptional patient care.

  • Willingness to learn and perform vein procedures.

  • Ability to commit to the agreed part-time schedule.

Preferred:

  • Existing credentialing with Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP).

  • Hospital medical staff privileges or relationships in the Temecula/Murrieta area.

  • Interest in developing or growing a cardiology practice.

  • Prior vein experience is not required; training is available.

  • New graduates are welcome and may be preferred.

Schedule and Clinical Responsibilities

  • Approximately 1-3 days per week.

  • At least one day per week in the Inland Empire.

  • Predominantly outpatient practice.

  • Approximately 25-30 patients daily, including vein procedures, consultations, and follow-ups.

  • No routine call for vein procedures. Call may be required if the physician develops a cardiology practice and assumes responsibility for cardiology patients.

  • Flexible start date; the practice can wait a few months for the right candidate.

Practice Development

The physician will initially help manage the existing caseload rather than build a patient base from scratch. Support will be provided for developing the cardiology practice and generating patient leads. Additional clinical opportunities may become available as the practice expands.
