General Cardiology Locums | ASAP Start | Ongoing Assignment

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC/BE General Cardiologist for an ongoing, full-time locum tenens opportunity in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This position offers a combination of outpatient clinic, hospital coverage, procedures, and call responsibilities in a collaborative clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong general cardiology experience and be comfortable performing cardiac procedures, interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to adult patients.

Assignment Highlights

• Assignment Length: Ongoing

• Coverage Need: Full-time

• Practice Settings: Outpatient clinic and hospital

• Patient Population: Adults

• Patient Volume: Approximately 17–18 patients per day

• Schedule: Outpatient clinic, procedures, and call coverage

• Clinical Support: APP support available when working with interventional cardiology

• Hospital Size: Approximately 150 beds

• EMR: Epic

• Call Responsibilities: Nighttime and weekend callbacks average zero; weekend rounding is expected.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general cardiology care in outpatient and hospital settings.

• Perform and interpret cardiac diagnostic studies and procedures.

• Conduct and interpret nuclear cardiology studies.

• Perform and interpret stress tests.

• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs).

• Perform cardioversions.

• Interpret and manage echocardiograms and echo monitors.

• Provide inpatient consultations and hospital rounding as needed.

• Collaborate with APPs and other members of the cardiovascular care team.

• CT interpretation experience is preferred.

Requirements

• BC/BE in Cardiology.

• Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).

• DEA registration required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience.

• Comfortable providing both outpatient and inpatient general cardiology care.

• Procedural experience with TEEs, cardioversions, stress testing, and nuclear cardiology preferred.
