Cardiology Physician Position in West Virginia

Opportunity Overview

• Facility: Greenbrier Valley Medical Center

• Coverage Type: Locum tenens

• Start Date: November 2, 2026, ASAP emergency privileges may be available for providers with a clean background

• Contract Length: 6 months, with option to extend

• Positions Available: 1

• Coverage Needed: 2–3 weeks per month

• Patient Population: Adults, age 18+

• Patient Volume: Approximately 22–24 patients per day

• Support Staff: Technicians and RNs

• Interview Process: Teams interview

• Travel: Covered by the client

Schedule & Coverage

• Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

• Hospital Call: 24-hour call, with frequency depending on the call schedule

• During hospital call weeks:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Clinic from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

  • Tuesday and Thursday: Full clinic days

• Minimal nighttime calls expected.

Clinical Details

• Evaluate and manage new and established cardiology patients.

• Perform cardiac risk assessments and EKGs, including interpretation.

• Place Holter monitors and perform pacemaker checks.

• Supervise EKGs and conduct treadmill and nuclear stress testing.

• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) and cardioversions.

• New patient appointments: 30 minutes

• Established patient appointments: 15 minutes

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience

• Active West Virginia medical license or IMLC eligibility

• Clean background required

• EKG interpretation, TEE, and nuclear stress testing skills required

• CSR required

• DEA registration required

• Emergency privileges may be available for eligible providers with a clean background.
