Schedule & Coverage

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Call: 1:6
• One week of call every 6 weeks
• Weeknight evening call Monday-Friday
• 24-hour weekend call Saturday and Sunday
• Inpatient and outpatient coverage
• Rounding and admissions required
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation

Clinical Details

• Adults age 18+
• Approximately 13 patients per day
• 134-bed hospital
• Primary focus is General Cardiology
• Inpatient admissions, consultations, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular conditions
• Clinic-based cardiology care with inpatient responsibilities
• EPIC EMR

Procedures/Clinical Activities:

• EKG interpretation and ambulatory monitoring
• Echocardiography, including transthoracic and transesophageal
• Exercise and pharmacologic stress testing
• Elective cardioversion
• Arterial and central venous catheter placement
• Temporary pacemaker placement
• Emergency and elective pericardiocentesis
• Coronary angiography
• Right and left heart catheterization
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Intra-aortic balloon pump insertion
• Tilt-table testing
• Fluoroscopy
• Administration of antiplatelet, anticoagulant, and thrombolytic agents

Requirements

• MD/DO
• General Cardiology
• Washington license required
• IMLC with LOQ in hand may be considered
• ACLS from AHA or American Red Cross
• Case list documenting clinical activity representative of the requested privileges within the past 24 months
• Case list must include diagnosis/procedure, date, and facility
• EPIC experience
