A locum tenens Cardiology opportunity is available at an acute care hospital in Centralia, Illinois, beginning November 2, 2026. This assignment offers ongoing coverage until a permanent provider is secured, with the anticipated need extending approximately one year.
The provider will deliver a blend of inpatient consultative care and clinic services while participating in phone call coverage.
2 weeks on/2 weeks off 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday.
This would include inpatient consults, clinic and some call but more telephone versus actual presence after hours at the hospital

Job Responsibilities
Perform inpatient consults and outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Read EKGs and echocardiograms.
Supervise stress testing.
Manage patients with CAD, HTN, and HF.
Participate in required phone call coverage.
Document patient care in Epic EMR.
Collaborate with support staff including a medical assistant and APP coverage two days per week.
Qualifications
Active Illinois medical license required.
BLS certification required.
Epic charting experience required.
Willing to provide inpatient consult coverage.
Employment Type: Locum Tenens (1099).
Working Hours
Ongoing coverage until a permanent provider is found (anticipated approximately one year)
Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
40 hours per week
Monday through Friday
Monday through Thursday schedule may be considered if needed
Standard Day Shift
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Scheduled coverage plus on-call required
Call Type: Phone call coverage
After-hours call is primarily telephone-based rather than requiring physical presence at the hospital
