Take on an exceptional locum tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity in Grand Forks, North Dakota, providing comprehensive inpatient coverage, surgical care, rounding, and consultative services. This travel assignment is ideal for a Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon seeking a focused short-term opportunity with a strong surgical case mix and dedicated OR support.
The role offers meaningful exposure to complex cardiothoracic procedures while providing flexibility and clinical variety through locum practice. Physicians will perform scheduled surgeries, manage inpatient patients, participate in call coverage, and provide outpatient consultations as needed.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform approximately 1–2 surgeries Monday–Friday, depending on clinical needs.
• Perform and manage CABG procedures and valve repair/replacement.
• Perform pericardial windows, lung resections, and vascular procedures including endarterectomies.
• Conduct inpatient rounding and provide outpatient consultations following surgical cases.
Qualifications
• Certification accepted through:
o American Board certification
o American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Board certification
o Canadian Board certification with membership in the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons
• Doctorate in the applicable field of medical practice from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in the required cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
Working Hours
• Coverage: September 25 – October 2, 2026.
• Call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM throughout the coverage period.
• Primarily inpatient coverage with outpatient consultations as needed.
• Approximately 1–2 surgeries per weekday, depending on need.
