We are seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiologist for a long-term locum assignment in Potsdam, New York. The physician will provide outpatient cardiology services, supervise stress testing, and support inpatient cardiology consultations across two nearby locations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiologist seeking a flexible 2–4 weeks/month schedule.
Job Responsibilities
• Supervise stress tests approximately 1 day per week.
• Provide inpatient cardiology consultations and support the stress lab.
• Participate in hospital consult service rotation as needed.
• Provide on-call coverage 4:00 PM–8:00 AM as needed to fill coverage gaps.
• Read the nuclear portion of stress tests when needed; nuclear reading experience is preferred but not required.
• Work collaboratively with the existing clinical team.
• Utilize Epic EMR for clinical documentation.
• Provide coverage across outpatient and hospital settings.
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Cardiology required.
• Active New York Medical License in hand required.
• Preferred: 5+ years of cardiology experience.
• Experience reading cardiac imaging studies preferred, including Nuclear Stress Tests.
• AHA or RQI certification required.
• Epic experience required.
• Clean malpractice history strongly preferred.
• Must provide an updated CV with complete work history and explanations for any gaps of 30+ days.
Working Hours
• Preferred: 4 weeks/month
• Minimum: 2 weeks/month
• Alternative schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off with two locum physicians.
• Assignment duration: 6–9 months
• Start: ASAP / anticipated mid-September 2026, depending on credentialing.
• On-call: 4:00 PM–8:00 AM, as needed.
