Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiology Physician (MD/DO) for a locum opportunity at an Acute Care Hospital in Potsdam, New York. This position includes a combination of outpatient clinic responsibilities, stress test supervision, inpatient consultations, and occasional on-call coverage. The provider will primarily practice independently and utilize Epic EMR while collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This assignment also includes travel between two nearby clinical locations.
Job Responsibilities
• Supervise cardiac stress testing and interpret findings as needed.
• Perform inpatient cardiology consultations and participate in hospital consult services.
• Support the stress laboratory and manage cardiac patient evaluations.
• Interpret cardiac imaging studies, including Nuclear Stress Tests (preferred but not required).
• Participate in evening on-call coverage as needed to support scheduling gaps.
• Document all patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital staff to deliver high-quality patient
Qualifications
• Active New York Medical License (Required).
• Minimum 5 years of Cardiology experience preferred.
• Recent Epic EMR experience required.
• AHA or RQI certification required.
• Ability to interpret cardiac imaging studies preferred.
• No malpractice claims.
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and patient management skills.
Working Hours
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM day shifts.
• Preferred full-time coverage (4 weeks per month); minimum 2 weeks per month considered.
• Evening on-call coverage 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM as needed.
• Assignment duration: 26 weeks with the potential for 6–9 months of coverage.
