An excellent Locum General Cardiologist (MD/DO) opportunity in Bellingham, Washington. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment, providing inpatient cardiology services while supporting an established cardiology team.
Job Responsibilities
Perform patient evaluations, consultations, admissions, and daily rounding.
Diagnose and manage a broad range of cardiovascular conditions.
Perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and Cardioversions (approximately 2–4 TEEs per shift).
Participate in scheduled call coverage, including occasional weeknight and weekend call.
Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
Qualifications
Active Washington Medical License preferred.
IMLC accepted, and candidates willing to obtain a Washington license will be considered depending on the start date.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Documentation of recent cardiovascular clinical activity within the past 24 months.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Working Hours
Start Date: ASAP (Upon Credentialing)
Coverage: Approximately 1 week per month (.25 FTE)
Schedule: 10-hour shifts | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: Approximately 2 weeknight calls during the coverage week, with possible 24-hour weekend call as needed
Setting: Inpatient (Hospital Only)
Hospital Beds: 247
Average Patient Volume: 8–10 patients per day
EMR: Epic
Skills
Proficiency in performing TEE and Cardioversion procedures.
Excellent patient assessment and diagnostic skills.
Experience with inpatient rounding, admissions, and consultative cardiology.
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Experience documenting patient care using Epic EMR.
Ability to manage acute cardiovascular cases efficiently in a hospital setting.
