General Cardiologist Needed | Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Locum Tenens | Ongoing Assignment

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC/BE General Cardiologist for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This ongoing assignment offers a combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient services, procedures, and call coverage with temporary privileges available for qualified candidates.

This opportunity is ideal for a cardiologist seeking a consistent schedule in a collaborative practice. The physician will provide outpatient clinic services, inpatient consults, procedural coverage, and call while working alongside an experienced Advanced Practice Provider.

Providers can expect to see approximately 17–18 adult patients per day. The practice includes clinic responsibilities along with approximately three days per week in the cardiac lab. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical record and is supported by a 150-bed hospital.

Schedule Expectations

The assignment requires coverage consisting of:

• Weekday clinic hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Approximately 1–2 weeknight call shifts per week
• 1:4–1:5 weekend call rotation
• Ongoing monthly coverage blocks throughout the assignment

The client strongly prefers a physician who can provide coverage for all scheduled dates, although 1–2 weeks of requested time off may be considered.

Clinical Responsibilities

Providers will perform a broad range of general cardiology services, including:

• General cardiology consultations
• Nuclear cardiology interpretation
• Stress testing
• Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Cardioversions
• Echocardiogram interpretation
• Cardiac monitoring interpretation

CT cardiac interpretation is preferred but not required.

Average overnight callback is minimal, with little to no nighttime call volume. Weekend call primarily consists of inpatient rounding.

Candidate Requirements

• BC/BE in Cardiology
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Active DEA
• Minimum of one year of experience
• Nuclear Cardiology Board Certification required
• Echocardiography Board Certification required
• Cardiac CT certification/experience preferred
