WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC Cardiology Physician for locum tenens coverage beginning as soon as credentialed. This opportunity supports inpatient and outpatient cardiology services and offers a flexible commitment of 1–2 weeks per month, including clinic, diagnostic reads, and call coverage.

Assignment Highlights

• Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM clinic coverage, followed by 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM weeknight call
• Saturday–Sunday: 24-hour call coverage (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
  • Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiology

  • Credentialing Timeframe: TBD

This assignment combines clinic responsibilities, inpatient rounding, consults, and diagnostic interpretation in a collaborative cardiovascular program. The physician will work independently while receiving support from a PA-C during morning hours on most days.

Clinical responsibilities include inpatient rounding, new consults, reading cardiac imaging studies, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), cardioversions, and occasional stress test proctoring. Average daily patient volume ranges from 3–10 patients, with approximately 5–6 new consults per day. The patient population is predominantly adult.

Call responsibilities include both weeknight and weekend coverage. Most after-hours calls can be managed remotely, with rare instances requiring onsite evaluation for urgent procedures such as stat TEEs. Physicians must remain within a 30-minute response radius while on call.

Additional specialty support available onsite includes cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, trauma services, orthopedics, and neurosurgery.

Requirements

• BC Cardiology
• Active Pennsylvania Medical License
• Pennsylvania DEA
• ACLS and BLS Certifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• IMLC candidates will be considered if compact license is active and included with presentation

EMR systems utilized include Epic and Cerner PowerChart.

Travel expenses are covered, including airfare, lodging, mileage, rental car and fuel, parking, and ground transportation.
