Cardiology/PCCM Fellowship - Level Hospital Locum Assignment in Pennsylvania – Nights & Weekends

OnCall Solutions is seeking a Physician for an ongoing hospital-based assignment providing evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage located in Pennsylvania. This role is best suited for a Cardiology or Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellow, or a similarly experienced physician comfortable working in a high-acuity inpatient and ICU-style environment.

The assignment includes a combination of CSU management, cardiology consult support, and inpatient floor coverage for post-operative cardiac surgery patients. The provider will receive handoff from an NP at the start of shift and provide signout at the end of shift. Additional responsibilities include answering service coverage and coordination of follow-up communication as needed.

This role is structured into three primary components: CSU management, select cardiology consults, and answering service coverage. The provider will also assist in managing CT surgery floor patients for PRN needs and support CSU patients transitioning toward discharge.

Shift coverage includes:

• Monday–Friday: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 5:00 PM – 6:30 AM (13.5-hour shifts)
• Additional timing may be adjusted per client request

Clinical expectations include comfort with:

• Post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• CSU and intermediate care cardiac patients
• Central line (IJ) and arterial line (radial) management
• Basic ventilator management (in-house respiratory therapy available)
• In-house anesthesia support (no intubations required)
• Answering service coverage (documenting patient name, DOB, and issue for next-day follow-up)

This assignment is similar to what is commonly performed during cardiology fellowship training, and is ideal for fellows or physicians with recent ICU/cardiology inpatient experience.

Requirements:

• Active, unrestricted PA medical license
• DEA registration
• ACLS certification
• Recent fellowship training in Cardiology or Pulmonary/Critical Care preferred
• Strong inpatient/ICU experience managing cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Comfort with invasive lines, ventilator basics, and post-operative cardiac care
