Position Overview

A WellSpan-owned cardiology practice affiliated with Gettysburg Hospital is seeking locum Cardiologists for a flexible coverage need. The facility is open to either:

• Two physicians splitting coverage, or
• One full-time physician covering the full monthly schedule

This role includes a balanced mix of inpatient consults, call coverage, clinic responsibilities, and cardiac diagnostic procedures.

Schedule

Coverage consists of:

• One week of hospital call coverage:
  • Monday 7:00a – Monday 7:00a
• One week of outpatient clinic:
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00a–5:00p

Coverage needs total:

• 2 weeks of call per month
• 2 weeks of clinic coverage per month

Clinical Responsibilities

Providers will handle:

• Hospital consults
• Hospital call coverage
• TEE procedures
• Echocardiograms
• Nuclear testing

Patient Volume

• Hospital: Average of 20 patients/day
• Clinic: Average of 18 patients/day

Practice Setting

Coverage includes a combination of:

• Hospital-based care at Gettysburg Hospital
• Clinic/private practice setting
• Academic/training environment
• Ambulatory surgery center exposure

Requirements

• Board Eligible in Cardiology required
• Active state license required
• DEA required

Credentialing

• Standard credentialing timeframe: Approximately 120 days if not already credentialed with WellSpan
• Temporary privileges available for providers with a clean file
